John Radcliffe Hospital – Trauma Building
Fire compliance and refurbishment works to the Trauma Building at John Radcliffe Hospital, supporting its return to compliant operational use.
Project summary
Marcon delivered a significant package of fire compliance, building services and refurbishment works within the Trauma Building at John Radcliffe Hospital.
The package included new and upgraded mechanical plant, access control installations, new flooring, extensive redecoration and associated builders’ works and making good.
The challenge
The 26-week scheme was undertaken to address Fire Risk Assessment requirements and upgrade key elements of the existing building.
Our approach
Marcon’s works combined fire safety improvements with mechanical and electrical upgrades and the refurbishment of internal areas.
The building fabric, fire safety and building services elements were closely coordinated, so the completed areas achieved the required operational and compliance standards.
