At Marcon, health and safety is more than a compliance requirement. It is a fundamental part of how we operate, and we are committed to maintaining safe, well-managed environments for everyone involved in a project — our workforce and supply chain, our clients, and the communities around us. Marcon’s Health & Safety Management System is certified to ISO 45001, audited internally every month and externally every year.
Our Health, Safety and Environmental management is led by a dedicated in-house H&S Manager and embedded across the business through robust procedures, regular training and a strong culture of accountability. We take a proactive, hands-on approach, so risks are identified early and managed throughout every stage of a project.

Environmental
Marcon is committed to achieving net zero carbon in operation by 2045 — five years ahead of the UK’s 2050 net zero target.
To get there we work with our clients and supply chain so that greenhouse gas emissions is considered from design, through construction, and into the operation of the finished building. We invest in new methods and can advise on the cost difference between conventional and greener solutions.
Quality assurance
Our business management system is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, audited internally every quarter and externally every year, so compliance and best practice are demonstrated rather than assumed.
On site, our subcontractors are held to the same standards, with regular audits to confirm it. Our approved supply chain is built on trusted relationships and previous successful projects, and is pre-qualified through CHAS and Constructionline against criteria including financial standing, modern slavery, and equal opportunities.
Safeguarding
Our staff hold enhanced DBS certificates and are trained and experienced in working alongside students, staff and other stakeholders. On education projects, safeguarding is planned in from the first survey.

Much of our work is delivered alongside patients, staff, pupils and building users. That changes how a project must be planned and managed.
Infection control, dust and noise containment, out-of-hours phasing, isolated services, controlled access and daily stakeholder liaison — delivered to applicable HTM/HBN, Trust, statutory and project-specific requirements. We have been doing it for NHS trusts and their estates partners for over fifteen years, and it is the reason clients come back.
