Project summary
Marcon Construction was appointed under an NEC4 Option A contract to refurbish a disused linear accelerator (LINAC) suite in the basement of Guy’s Hospital, creating a new TomoTherapy treatment facility. This £2 million investment supports advanced cancer care, delivering sub-millimetre radiation precision for over 500 patients per year.

Scope of works
- Strip-out of all existing M&E services from the former LINAC suite
- Installation of new mechanical systems including AHUs, ventilation, domestic water, and heating
- New low-voltage switchgear and electrical services
- Full construction of a new TomoTherapy suite and ancillary areas
- Installation of full radiation protection systems in accordance with shielding requirements
