Central Middlesex Hospital – Endoscopy
Construction of a brand new Endoscopy Unit
Project summary
Marcon delivered a new Endoscopy Unit at Central Middlesex Hospital, converting an existing space to expand and modernise the hospital’s diagnostic services.
The challenge
The unit was built inside a working hospital, whose services had to carry on around the works.
Our approach
Full-height hoardings separated the construction areas and infection control measures were adopted.
A clear fire escape strategy was maintained, with temporary fire detection integrated into the hospital’s network, and access routes and logistics plans kept deliveries and waste removal clear of hospital services.
Outcome
The unit was completed within a 30-week programme, giving the hospital a modern endoscopy suite that improves patient flow.
