The Project

Marcon Construction was appointed by the ElmWey Learning Trust to deliver a comprehensive turnkey solution for a new Art Block and tuck shop at Heathside School. This fast-track modular project was designed to provide a high-quality, modern learning environment and improved on-site amenities for students.

Scope of Works

  • Demolition of the existing Art Block, including full licensed asbestos removal
  • Modular construction of a new Art Block featuring factory-installed services and finishes
  • External cladding using high-quality brick slips for a traditional appearance
  • Construction of a new grab-and-go tuck shop
  • Installation of all associated systems: access control, IT infrastructure, mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, drainage, perimeter fencing, external lighting, CCTV, and surface finishes

Programme & Delivery

The works were scheduled during the six-week summer holiday to eliminate disruption to students and ensure the facility was ready for the new term. With no room for programme slippage, Marcon managed the project closely from inception to handover, ensuring tight coordination and rapid on-site installation.

Outcome

Delivered as a turnkey package, this modular solution met both the client’s timeline and quality expectations. The new facilities now provide Heathside School with a modern, safe, and inspiring environment for creative education and student wellbeing.
